Sovereign AI Requires Sovereign Character
Our technology is only as trustworthy as the people who build it. This code defines who we are, how we work, and the standards we hold each other to — every day, without exception.
“We build infrastructure that nations trust with their most sensitive data. That trust is not earned by technology alone — it is earned by the character of the people who operate it. Every one of us carries that responsibility.”
— Nicolas Papadopoulos, CEO & FounderNine Principles We Live By
These are not aspirational statements on a wall. They are operational standards enforced through peer review, management accountability, and a confidential reporting channel.
Sovereignty Over Convenience
We choose the harder path when it preserves sovereignty. We never route data outside EU jurisdiction for speed or cost savings. We never outsource control of our infrastructure to third-party vendors when it compromises our clients' autonomy.
Radical Transparency
We tell clients the truth — about performance, about limitations, about costs. If a deployment isn't ready, we say so. If an open-weight model underperforms for a use case, we recommend alternatives even if it costs us revenue.
Fairness in AI
We audit our deployed models for bias. We apply differential privacy. We ensure that the AI systems our clients deploy do not discriminate against protected groups. We comply with the EU AI Act not as a burden but as a baseline.
Environmental Stewardship
We are accountable for our energy consumption. We pursue the hydrogen transition not because regulations demand it, but because it's the right thing to do. We report our carbon footprint honestly and set targets we intend to hit.
Inclusive Meritocracy
We hire on ability, not pedigree. Portfolio over CV. A developer under 30 with a brilliant project deserves the same opportunity as a PhD from a top university. Our Youth Innovation programmes exist because talent doesn't wait for degrees.
Data Sanctity
Client data is sacred. We never train on client data without explicit consent. We never access client workloads unless requested for support. We maintain air-gapped Data Embassy environments where even AGICY engineers cannot access client data.
Public Trust
We serve governments and civil sector organisations. This is a privilege that demands the highest ethical standards. We maintain security clearances, submit to audits, and cooperate with regulators proactively — not reactively.
Long-Term Thinking
We build infrastructure that lasts decades, not quarters. We make decisions that benefit clients and employees over 10 years, even when they cost us today. Short-term profit never overrides long-term trust.
Continuous Learning
We train from within. Every employee has access to the AGICY Academy. We fund certifications, sponsor conference attendance, and promote from within whenever possible. Growth is not a perk — it's an obligation.
What We Expect
Clear standards. No ambiguity. Every team member — from intern to CEO — is held to these same expectations.
We Do
- ✓Report security vulnerabilities immediately — no matter how small
- ✓Treat client data as if it were your own family's medical records
- ✓Speak up in meetings when you disagree — silence is not consent
- ✓Take ownership of mistakes — fix them, learn, move on
- ✓Mentor junior colleagues — your growth is measured by who you lift
- ✓Challenge decisions that compromise sovereignty for convenience
- ✓Maintain work-life balance — burnout helps no one
- ✓Document your work — the next engineer needs to understand it
We Never
- ✕Access client data outside of authorised support tickets
- ✕Share proprietary information with competitors or unauthorised parties
- ✕Accept gifts or hospitality that could create conflicts of interest
- ✕Use company resources for personal projects without approval
- ✕Tolerate harassment, discrimination, or bullying — report it
- ✕Cut corners on security reviews to meet deadlines
- ✕Misrepresent product capabilities to clients or prospects
- ✕Retaliate against anyone who reports an ethics concern in good faith
Speak Up — Safely
AGICY maintains a confidential ethics reporting channel. All reports are reviewed by the Chief Compliance Officer and, where appropriate, the Board Audit Committee. Retaliation against good-faith reporters is a termination offence.
Confidential Channel
Anonymous or identified reporting. Your identity is protected by EU whistleblower directives.
48h Response SLA
Every ethics report receives acknowledgement within 48 hours and full investigation within 30 days.
Zero Retaliation
Good-faith reporters are protected. Any retaliation is grounds for immediate termination of the retaliator.
